Abstract [eng] This Master’s Thesis is the analysis of theoretical aspects of mental health, physical activity and the influences to each other. The hypothesis that people who has greater physical activity, has greater mental health, rather than people whose physical activity is low. The instrument of the research – survey in a form of questionnaire (Modified anxiety and depression, as well as Daily physical activity questionnaires), was filled by 195 clients of Health centre. In the research part, respondents’ physical activity, mental health and the influence of physical activity to mental health was examined. Main survey conclusions: 1. After the analysis of the sources, the definitions of mental health, its disorders and physical activity were unveiled. The analysis of importance of physical activity to mental health was conducted. The emphasis that physical activity enhances the emotional and mental state shall be expressed. The importance of physical activity to patients, who has depression or other mental disorders, was proven. 2. The evaluation of respondents’ physical activity shows that they are decently physically active and are more likely to choose active means of the free time, rather that passive. The respondents tend to choose activities outside health centres. 3. The analysis of respondents’ mental health shows, reveals, that majority of them rarely feel tension, anxiety, anxious thoughts or fear, they rather feel hilarious and joyful. 4. The sum up of physical activity’s influence to mental health delivers, that walking (p>0,05) and cycling (p<0,05) has direct influence on the one’s mental state, therefore it reveals, that any physical activity can induce some kind of good emotions, happiness, joyfulness and prevent the appearance of anxious thoughts, fear or anxiety. Hypothesis was proven, that people, who has greater physical activity, has greater mental health, rather than people whose physical activity is low.
