Abstract [eng] The human resources of society are one of the most important resources of the state, influencing economic well-being. Without human capital, the functioning of the state, economic development and growth are impossible. These days, the world is facing a COVID-19 pandemic that is negatively affecting national economies and unbalancing human capital processes. Lithuania and Sweden used different measures to stop the impact of the pandemic on their economies. Stock markets directly reflect the performance of business and are likely to respond to environmental factors, therefore, analyzing the impact and affection of the pandemic, is important to look for connections between changes in stock indices and the number of people infected and deceased, during the pandemic. This master's thesis defines the changes that have taken place in the Lithuanian and Swedish stock markets during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lithuanian and Swedish stock market data and their changes are comparable. Research object – Lithuanian and Swedish stock markets during the pandemic. Research aim – to determine the impact of the pandemic on the Lithuanian and Swedish stock markets. Research tasks: to describe the impact of the pandemic on the Lithuanian and Swedish economies, to analyze the Lithuanian and Swedish stock markets, to assess the relationship between the Lithuanian and Swedish stock markets during the pandemic. Research methods: analysis of scientific literature, analysis of statistical data, MATLAB program is used to find connection using wavelet method Assessing the impact of the pandemic on the Lithuanian and Swedish stock markets, it was found that the Lithuanian stock market were more affected by the pandemic, and the Swedish authorities managed to reduce the impact of the pandemic on the stock market.
