Abstract [eng] Vilnius University Library's yearbook is published each 5 years and reflects the most irnportant aspects of Library's work, changes and relevant problems. Introductory articles of yearbooks serve as reflections of library's environment at a certain period of time, main influencing actors and factors and fundamental library values can be identified. This article seeks to analyse changes in the content of Vilnius University's Library yearbooks in the last 50 years - from the first yearbook of 1957 till the last yearbook of 2010. Using qualitative content analysis introductory articles are considered as text arrays, in which library's environment of different periods of time is captured. It was identified that Vilnius University Library's yearbooks do not have a fixed structare and each time their content parts are changing. It was noticed that in texts after 1991 main library's activities were more visible - one can guess that the library's position in the university structure and in a broader global context is quite clear. Although both periods (before and after 1991) have almost the same main actors, in texts after 1991 some new actors appear (consultants. people with disabilities, users, etc.). Newer texts also reveal new forms of activity - primarily project work. If the texts before 1991 defined the main actor as reader, later the reader is gradually changing into user, then the reader splits up into smaller categories such as student, scholar, researcher etc. It can be stated that the emergence of user reflects library's modernization and the vision of contemporary library services.
