The main goal of this Master thesis was to determine the influence of perceived durability of goods (long performance for the customer) characteristics on attitude and intention to buy. The master thesis consist of review of literature, research and research results, conclusions and suggestions. The conception and types of planned obsolescence, product durability features, the concept of planned product obsolescence, what can influence the intention to buy mobile phones and refrigerators are described in the literature. After the literature analysis was carried a study about influence of perceived durability of goods (long performance for the customer) characteristics on attitude and intention to buy. There was 2 quantitative surveys were conducted and analyzed. In the surveys participated 251 consumers. The results of the research were statistically processed with the SPSS programme batch. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was used to determine the alignment of the Likert scales’; in all cases, it was higher than 0.6, which indicates that the scales used were consistent and reliable. The correlative analysis was used for the checking of hypotheses and Pearson coefficient. The performed research revealed that for customers perceived durability of goods is important. The 3 identified characteristics of perceived planned obsolescence appear to be important. The more important they are, the stronger the intention to change to a new one product. The conclusions and recommendations summarize the main concepts of literature analysis as well as the results of the performed research. The obtained results can be useful for sellers and manufacturers of mobile phone and refrigerators. |
