The main purpose of this master thesis is to determine the role of green financial technologies in achieving sustainable economic growth. The work consists of three main parts: the analysis of literature, the research and its results, conclusions and recommendations. Literature analysis reviews the characteristics of sustainable economic growth and the factors which have influence on it. This part of the thesis, also reviews the theoretical aspects of green financial technologies, discusses the most popular types of these technologies and their role in achieving sustainable economic growth. After the literature analysis the author has carried out the study that aims to find out what is the role of green financial technologies in achieving sustainable economic growth in European countries. During the study, the annual data of 19 European countries was analyzed in the period of 2010-2020. In order to determin the role of green financial technologies in achieving sustainable growth, a regression analysis was conducted, during which the influence of 10 independent variables on sustainable economic growth was evaluated. Furthermore, the results of the research were compared to the similar studies performed in the other regions. The performed research revealed that financial technologies plays a significant role in achieving sustainable economic growth. The created regression model identifies that, compared to other analyzed factors, it is financial technologies that have the greatest positive impact on the analyzed dependent variable. However, when evaluating green financial technologies as a part of green finance, the research shows that this factor does not have a significant impact on sustainable economic growth. |
