Abstract [eng] This clinical research represents optimized non-invasive and minimally invasive evaluation of congenital obstructive uropathy. The aim of the study was to question how efficiently operative cases and radionuclide renal scan findings of obstruction can be predicted by ultrasound scan (anterior-posterior diameter and anterior-posterior diameter and midparenchymal thickness ratio) and urine biomarkers (urinary neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin, beta 2 microglobulin and microalbumin). The study revealed that the combination of biomarkers with renal ultrasound scan findings was superior in the prediction of operative cases than anterior-posterior diameter alone, as well as the combination of ultrasound scan findings with urine biomarkers was superior in the prediction of radionuclide renal scan findings than ultrasound scan alone. We have also demonstrated the additional value of diuretic administration before ultrasound renal scan when obstructive uropathy was suspected. The difference of CTGF gene expression in strictured and healthy ureteral tissue allows discuss about the possible pathogenesis of congenital obstructive uropathy. Most of the non-invasive tools analyzed in this study are available in almost all healthcare settings, therefore the results of the study and the suggested evaluation of obstructive uropathy can easily become a standard in the daily practice. What is more, the employment of non-invasive tools enables to waive other expensive, invasive and radioactive methods. Year.
