Abstract [eng] The topic of master thesis - Impact of Yoga Asanas on 8 – 11 years old Children's Physical Capacity. In theoretical and empirical part of the thesis, the impact of asanas to 8-11 years old children ́ s physical capacity is researched. Scientific literature and testing method were used for the research. The purpose of the physical tests was to determine the changes in physical numbers after half a year of practicing yoga. Two groups were used for the experiment: control group from Siauliai center primary school and experimental group from Sakyna primary school. The hypotheses were that physical activity and asanas have positive impact on people ́ s health and growth. In the experiment participated 10 schoolchildren from Siauliai Center primary school (8-11 years) and 10 schoolchildren from Sakyna primary school (the same group age). The statistical analyses of the collected data were performed. The purpose of the research: to determine the impact of asanas to 8-11 years old children ́ s physical strength. To fulfil the purpose of the research, the goals were defined: 1) Using theory explain the benefits of physical activity to 8-11 years old children. 2) Analyze using scientific literature the positive impact of exercise for schoolchildren. 3) To point out asanas specifics as a form of exercise. 4) To evaluate Yoga asanas impact to target groups flexibility, balance and muscle strengths. 5) To evaluate and compare experimental and control group results. In the empirical part of the project children ́ s physical activity and asanas impact to children ́ s health is being analyzed. The main findings: 1. From theoretical point of view, it is determined that the physical exercises are beneficial, for both: growing children ́s physiological processes and for older age people. Physical strength improves overall health and reduces the risk of many long term diseases. In scientific literature it is stated, that physical strength is extremely important for the good quality of life, and it all begins already in our childhood. 2. Physical activity has positive impact on physical strength. It improves physical strength and enriches personal growth, creates new behavior and communication skills. Physical activity is one of the conditions to have good personal, social and emotional life balance. Physical activity is very important in order to improve the value of the life. 53. Yoga asanas has positive impact on physical activity. Exercises have impact on the whole body: it stretches and strengthen muscles, joins, improves flexibility of the spine. Every single asanas have positive impact on physical activity levels, muscle strength, whole body flexibility, balance improvement. It also proved the research, during which it was uncovered, that children who did yoga, had better results (not tremendously, but better). Evaluating using Eurofit tables, the best results were achieved for sit ups and spine flexibility, and the worst results for balance and fast movement. 4. Yoga did not have very clear impact on balance and fast movements. The results were much better in the spring for both test groups. Average balance test results for control group were 8,7±2,31 (lowest value - 5;highest value – 11) tries after program 7,7±3,13 (lowest value -3, highest value – 13) did not uncover big changes. Waste movements results were more obvious for experimental group but not for control group. Sit ups results had big difference of p<0,05. Fast power results for control group were averagely 107,7±19,3 before (lowest value – 74; highest value – 128 cm), after 114,5±21,66 (lowest value – 90; highest value – 150 cm). The average increased by 6,8±9,65 cm and it is not statistically huge difference, because p>0,05. So the research showed that asanas did not have much impact on these exercises results and improvement.
