Abstract [eng] To improve the psychosocial health and quality of life of people with mental health problems, drama therapy has been successfully used in foreign countries. To include drama therapy in psychosocial rehabilitation services in our country, it is important to study the impact of this therapy and the possibilities that can contribute to the provision of comprehensive care. The application of drama therapy in the psychosocial rehabilitation of persons with mental and behavioral disorders in foreign countries and Lithuania has not been sufficiently studied. Objective of this research is to reveal the experience of drama therapy in psychosocial rehabilitation of adults with mental and behavioral disorders. The study involved psychosocial rehabilitation patients who attended drama therapy sessions: four men and one woman. The age of the subjects ranged from 32 to 53 years. The confidentiality of the participants is fully guaranteed. The results of the study are published only in summary form. To conduct the study a qualitative research strategy was used. Data was collected in semi- structured interviews. The method of reflexive thematic analysis according to Braun and Clarke (2006) was used to systematize the data analysis. The date of the research is 2021 October- December. The study was performed at the Department of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Mental Health Centre. Three main themes were revealed by reflexive thematic analysis: 1. Cognition of behaviour arising from the ego- the first step in change, 2. Acceptance- is the foundation of the sense of security, 3. The healing power of drama therapy. Participants rated drama therapy as a valuable experience in achieving psychosocial rehabilitation goals. Drama therapy sessions improved patients’ mood, allowed them to rehearse new patterns of behaviour and analyse themselves, which gave hope and had a positive effect on the quality of life. These findings may contribute to the expansion of the field of psychosocial rehabilitation for individuals with mental and behavioral disorders.
