In order to understand the experiences of young women with eating disorders, it is necessary to look at it from their own perspective. To this end, a qualitative study was conducted, which allowed to analyze the thoughts expressed by the participants. By exploring and delving into the world of each participant, through how they show and experience the world, how they can portray this world, what kind of drama therapy experience they had. Qualitative research allows the researcher to get to know the participants more richly and to see the complexity and richness of their experiences in discovering the meanings and the process of creating those meanings. The aim of this study is to better understand the specifics of eating disorders through the analysis of scientific data, as well as to investigate the contribution of drama therapy in the treatment of patients with eating disorders. The empirical part of the study aims to reveal the drama therapy experiences of the participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis was performed. The study included 6 young women with eating disorders who attended drama therapy sessions. The main goal of this study is to better understand young women with eating disorders and how drama therapy can help move towards recovery, what drama therapy techniques are appropriate for working with this target group. This study is also about how different young women with different eating disorders experience drama therapy. The aim is to reveal the positive experiences and frustrations of young women and thus improve the effectiveness of drama therapy interventions in working in this field. |
