This script entails theoretical analysis of whether animation can be beneficial in promoting children’s social development. The goal of this script is to analyse the approach of parents, as carers, and teachers, as professionals, to social and educational type of animation and how they can be used in children’s social development. Quantitative and qualitative and are the two methods that have been used in this research. Questionnaire form had been used to gather data for the quantitative part of the research and was completed by 109 parents of form 1-5 pupils in primary school. The data were analysed using statistics data base SPSS19. Semi structural interview was the main tool of the qualitative part of the research. 9 social teachers from Siauliai city primary schools have been interviewed, and the content analysis was applied to the gathered information. The main points of the conclusion of empirical investigation: 1. Literature analysis showed that social development is an important process that is taking place in the family, as well as in educational institutions. If selected and analysed appropriately, animation have a potential to aid improving children’s social development. 2. Quantitative research showed that parents tend to favour animation as one of the forms of children’s social development but there seems to be a lack of knowledge of how to maximise their effect. 3. Qualitative research revealed that all primary schools have social development programmes, however animation are not used by all teachers as part of their teaching tools. |
