The purpose of this research is to reveal the relationship with the past and present of people who returned from exile in Irkutsk Region and those who remained in exile. Subject matter of the research – Lithuanians who have experienced deportation to Irkutsk Region and have been living there so far. During the research process different methodology was used. Qualitative research – oral history method, questionnaire survey method, biographical method, scientific literature and source analysis method, descriptive method. Tens of authentic memories of deportees were collected and written down as well as material compiled during expedition in Irkutsk Region was applied in the course of the research. Compiled a history of Irkutsk community "Švyturys" is presented for the first time. |
