Abstract [eng] This dissertation is the first national scientific research covering such complex analysis and themes, exploring problematical aspects, the relative infringements and offensive impact of the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) at the workplace to the labour law institutes in the context of Lithuanian individual and collective labour law science approach. The research examines the concept and peculiar features of the workplace in the information society, the determination and definition of a workplace in the case of distance work and telework. Equally, the research combines detailed analysis of the violations and breaches of an employee's right to privacy, personal data protection, the restrictions of an employee's freedom of expression specifically in an electronic work environment which is conditioned by the illegal behaviour of an employer using ICTs at the workplace, various tools and activities of clandestine monitoring, surveillance and control of employees, their workplaces, the flows of their information and communication; as well as cases of misuse and abusive treatments of employees relative to their fundamental human rights and freedoms at work. Also, it determines mechanisms concerned with the reconciliation of the different interests of the subjects of employment relationships on the use of ICTs at the workplace according to labour law. Finally, it discusses theoretical and practical problems and potential models and comments on the expectations of their integration into the Lithuanian labour law system.
