It is important to draw in as many teachers (practicians ) as possible in the research of cognition and teaching the gifted children. At the initial stage of the research it is important to find out what the situation of children of various abilities in their educational institutions is. The aim of this Master’s paper is to investigate the situation of the gifted schoolchildren in Klaipeda basic schools. Trying to attain this purpose and referring to scientific literature, pedagogical and psychological characteristics of talented children are analyzed, theoretical bases of educating the gifted schoolchildren are discussed, the learners and teachers’ attitude to education of gifted schoolchildren present and desirable conditions, the standpoints of both groups of respondents who influence the process of teaching and participating in it are compared. |
