Abstract [eng] Visual and creative thinking is a part of completely developed personality comprising the foundation of young generation education and is one of the modern education elements. In the rapidly changing world visual and creative thinking educational problem becomes highly important. Research subject. Children and teenagers’ visual and creative thinking. The aim is to determine the children and teenagers’ visual and creative peculiarities. Research methodology: visual abstraction level establishment on the basis of D. Jurkšaitė (1982) research methodology; “Not existing animal” drawing test according to M. N. Dukarevič prepared methodology (quotation according to A.Vengeris, 2007); creativing thinking indicators (originality, details, luxuriance) establishment according to J. P. Giulford (quotation according to D. Grakauskaitė – Karkockienė, 2002) methodology; mathematical statistics methods: correlation analysis, Stjudent (t) criteria. Research methodology. This thesis paper is based on humanist psychology and educology. R. Arnheim conception, N. M. Grendstad conception, J. P. Giulford conception, C. R. Rodgers, A. Maslow theories. The thesis paper involves 255 respondents from two age groups: 179 elementary school children (7 – 11 years old) and 76 junior teenagers (12 – 15 years old). The first chapter of the paper analyses visual and creative thinking and educational peculiarities based on art expression means. The second chapter presents research methodology and organization. The third chapter gives research results about children and teenagers’ visual and creative thinking peculiarities. The research hypothesis shaped is confirmed that teenagers’ visual thinking abstraction level is larger than children’s; teenagers’ creative thinking is more developed than children’s. Having made the research it is set, that with growing age children do possess not only more developed creative thinking and visual thinking abstraction level, but also their colours get symbolic meaning when expressing visual thinking conceptions.
