The process of educational change has a huge influence on the secondary school managers. They have to adjust to permanent change, break the philosophy towards current situation, organize the change of school which corresponds its functions, moderness and fast-moving. There are lots of literature and research about the importance of managers competence. Therefore, there is no information about the fact if the competence, secondary school manager has, enables him to work efficiently in the system of changing education management.The aim of our research is to identify the role of competence of secondary school manager in the context of education management change. The hypothesis is made that the competence of secondary school manager has an influence on the change of school. The research has proved that the competence such as knowledge, skills, ability is required for the work of manager. Our research disclosed that the leading of manager enables the team to achieve the goals, to implement changes in the institution, to improve the quality of the activities. The research has proved that the managers of secondary schools in Rokiskis region are characterized as responsible, honest, implement work control, give feedback about work results, notice good jobs and regard the team members who implement them. In assuming we can say that our research has affirmed the hypothesis – the competence of school managers such as knowledge, skills, abilities and leading help to manage the institution, achieve overall goals, changes. |
