Abstract [eng] During this work Prussian blue (PB) and cobalt hexacyanoferrate (CoHCF) were applied in developing sensor and biosensors for hydrogen peroxide, urea, ammonium and Hg2+ ions. Determination of these compounds concentrations is important in both clinical analysis and environmental monitoring. Sensors for (i) ammonium ion and (ii) hydrogen peroxide were developed by coating an indium tin oxide-coated glass electrode (glass|ITO) with a layer of (i) PB or (ii) CoHCF. The electrochromic urea biosensor was developed by immobilising urease on the PB-coated glass|ITO electrode. Meanwhile, amperometric Hg2+ ion biosensor was developed by immobilising glucose oxidase on the PB-coated fluorine doped tin oxide modified glass electrode. Absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry measurements were performed to investigate the sensors developed in this work. Linear ranges obtained by hydrogen peroxide, urea, ammonium ion and Hg2+ ion sensors are 1.5 mM – 20 mM, 3 mM – 30 mM, 0.01 – 0.1 M and 27 µM – 247 µM, respectively.
