Abstract [eng] The aim of the research is to reveal the society members’ attitude towards child’s rights protection in social risk families. The following objectives have been raised to achieve this aim: to reveal the society members’ attitude towards discrimination of children and violation of child’s rights in social risk families, to find out the attitude of the society members towards the problems that exist in social risk families, to assess the opportunities of the children from social risk families from the aspect of child rights protection, to analyze society members’ attitude towards the institutions and specialists who execute the protection of child’ rights, to find out the sources from which the society receives the greatest number of information on the violation of children’s rights, and to analyze help opportunities for social risk families in pursuance of child rights protection in these families. The research has been conducted in Raudėnai town. The following methods are employed in the work: literary analysis and questionnaire survey. The results of the survey have revealed that there is no single reason which determines violation of child’s rights in social risk families. In respondents’ opinion the children are vulnerable both in the family and society. Their rights are violated in various spheres: the children in social risk families do not get parents’ maintenance, medical treatment. Society does not rely enough the institutions nearest to them and that are responsible for the protection of child’s rights. Only half participants of the survey think that the greatest impact on the protection of child’s rights has the institutions of municipality – offices of protection of Child’s rights and social workers of elderates. It may be concluded that the hypothesis has proved –in society members’ opinion child’s rights protection in social risk families is insufficient.
