Human head movements are one of the nonverbal communication forms. Head gestures have an important meaning in the dialog between people. During the dialog people nod or shake their heads to show their agreement or to show the disagreement with the partner of conversation. Also human viewing direction gives a lot of information about what object is intending to be observed or about an attempt to communicate with other people. Current Human Computer Interaction systems are only beginning to use nonverbal head communication analysis. HCI Systems are improving in becoming more user-friendly. Other applications of the head pose determination are the face recognition and the face reconstruction. Head pose determination is one of the cornerstones of the development of such systems. |
