Abstract [eng] The work deals with expression of originality of regional culture of Samogitia in the context of globalisation; cultural traditions, elements of the topics of native land in regional publications are analysed; the relation between the addresser and addressee as well as the communicative situation are explored. Samogitia is a historically formed Lithuanian (sub)ethnical and cultural region preserving long historical memory, vivid local traditions, values, exceptionality. In the situation of the processes of globalisation, rapid development and activeness of the dialogue among different cultures, cultures become closer, they impact and penetrate into each other, cultural openness and pluralism become established. With regard to this context, the issue of preservation of ethnical identity as well the benefit of regional publications representing Samogitia land of are highly relevant. The object of Master’s Thesis is regional cultural publications: a quarterly magazine Žemaičių žemė and a weekly newspaper the Žemaičių saulutė involved in preservation and dissemination of Samogitian heritage. The aim of Master’s Thesis is to describe the traditions and perspectives being propagated by these regional cultural publications, the expression of land’s topics in them; to analyse the relation between the addresser and addressee and the communicative situation. The first and the second parts of the Thesis indicate the peculiarities of expression of region’s cultural awareness with regard to historical heritage, cultural traditions, their continuity; dissemination of cultural heritage through regional publications is underlined. The third part discusses the ethnographical peculiarities, toponimics, authenticity of the land being propagated in regional publications; the fourth part deals with the communicative situation, the relation between the addresser and addressee, the aims and future plans of the publishers are presented. The fifth part encompasses conclusions. During the complex period of levelling of cultures, regional cultural publications of Samogitia region Žemaičių žemė and the Žemaičių saulutė provide comprehensive information, knowledge helping to better understand the links among collective and cultural memory and identities in creation and establishment of identities and development of the sense of identification as well as in development of historical awareness and civic mind. Scientific potential that is encompassed in these regional publications pays much attention to historical cultural landscape, searches for the beginnings, meanings, signs of heritage, registers, disseminates and investigates heritage. This culturally valuable information is rendered by publishing professional scientific articles, research results. Žemaičių žemė and the Žemaičių saulutė are the publications thoroughly representing the geographical land, reflecting originality of Samogitian culture, the only ones out of majority of periodicals being concerned about continuation of Samogitian traditions, underlining nurturing, change and perspectives for survival of Samogitian dialect in the environment of globalisation. Publishers of Žemaičių žemė give priority to solution of the issues of functioning of the language in the multicultural and multicultural environment, research of the Samogitian language, recognition of the heritage value and reflection of this value. The aim of the addresser of both publications is to get closer to addressees, to involve them into polemics by following provisions of dialogical proceeding. This can be called a communicative addresser’s intention.
