In the paper there is studied internet chat rooms www.cha.lt, www.linksmai.lt, www.frype.lt, www.panele.lt, www.ore.lt, www.bmx.lt.youth slang. In this work the youth slang is classified according to its origin, composition, and semantics, also is analyzed and divided into three semantic fields: person’s names, young people “values” names, titles, related to science realities. It also deals with youth slang spelling features. Examinations have found that the largest groups of those names are presented by individual names groups. This is emotionally expressive words having negative connotations. The second group is characterized by typical semantics, and the last group is abbreviations. Youth slang survey data may be useful to socio - linguistics, language culture, stylistics, as well as they can be useful to parents and educators. |
