Abstract [eng] Master's thesis is sought to develop the methodology for calculating of households’ differentiated charges for waste collection and processing and to justify it. The paper analyzes: waste management system and the European Union countries’ experience in applying differentiated fee for municipal waste management in the theoretical aspect; waste collection and management system, flow and fee dynamics and structure in Siauliai region; households differentiated charges calculation methodology for waste collection and processing and its economic justification. The main purpose of the paper is to prepare of a household differentiated charges calculation methodology for waste collection and processing and to justify it. Following a systematic scientific literature analysis, the research problem was formulated: How to set fee for municipal waste management in order to encourage waste sorting? The paper analyzes the methodology of calculation of differentiated charges for waste collection and processing options, differentiated fees calculation methodology is prepared and justified. Research hypothesis that application of differential fees for waste collection and processing would reduce household waste streams in landfills was proved.
