In this research we proposed a new method of an alternative computer cursor control based on large amplitude gaze (eye) jumps. Due to shorter duration of the repositioning of the eyesight to the new place on the computer screen, comparing with the manual (mouse) control, using alternative method, cursor is displayed according to the coordinates obtained from eye-tracker. After the cursor has been repositioned, manual control is returned to the user. For experimental investigation of four tasks the structure of the new method was built and program, realizing alternative computer cursor control, was implemented. Obtained results proved that in some applications alternative computer cursor control is beneficial. |
