Abstract [eng] In this master's work changes in Lithuanian wind bands structure, repertory and fields of activity are investigated. In Lithuania the formation of wind bands instrumental structure and the peculiarities of activity recently have begun to approach to the Western standarts. The significant progress has been achieved in this field. The introduction of innovations in the contemporary practice demands theoretical analysis of evolution of the wind bands contemporary conditions and directions of their development. That should be considered as a relevant subject for the investigation. The subject of research: the changes of Lithuanian wind bands instrumental structure, repertory and forms of activity under the influence of the Western countries. The aim of the research was to investigate the peculiarites of Lithuanian wind bands movement adopting the Western practice and traditions. In the first chapter of the work the main directions of wind bands evolution are presented. In the second chapter the peculiarities of wind bands in different countries during the latter century are analyzed, comparing them with specificity of Lithuanian wind bands in the same period. In the third, fourth and fifth chapters data based on the author's research about Lithuanian wind bands situation and trends of their development in recent years are presented and analyzed: the general survey of their contemporary situation, instrumental structure, different aspects of the repertory and fields of activity. The results of wind bands instrumental structure analysis reveal that at present Lithuanian wind bands are in the middle of the way between old and new traditions. It is obvious that the most wind bands directors seek for the possibilities to approach their bands to the Western patterns, although in some fields the loyalty to the older standarts can be observed. The changes of the bands instrumental constitution in recent years are rather important and generally progressive, they gradually accept the criteria of the Western countries. The renewing and enriching of the repertory is also obvious. Lithuanians make attempts to use rich Western repertory and simultaneously encourage composers to write pieces that could form the main body of national repertory in the future. Though the wind bands development meet with obstacles and their reconstruction is still in its run-up, nevertheless it can be stated that their development proceeds in a proper direction and the perspectives of the wind bands in Lithuania are favourable.
