Abstract [eng] The theoretical analysis of the conception of correct and incorrect body posture, causes and effects of posture disorders, and correctional means was carried out in the dissertation. The hypothesis has been formed that the performance of motion correction exercises under specialist’s care exerts a positive influence upon the body posture in teenagers. By applying methods of testing and pedagogical experiment, the research was performed with the aim to ascertain the efficiency of motion correction exercises by correcting the teenagers’ body posture. The statistical data analysis (frequencies, arithmetical mean and standard error, Mann’s and Whitney U-Wilcoxon’s tests) was carried out. 38 teenagers with incorrect body posture participated in the research. The empirical part investigates peculiarities of the teenagers’ body posture, analyses changes in body posture and the functional status of skeletal-muscular system. The main conclusions of the empirical research: 1. Results of the research have demonstrated that the drawn up programme of motion correction exercises exerted a positive influence upon the body posture in teenagers. The body posture of research individuals in the experimental group has reliably (p≤0.05) improved after the experiment and was statistically significantly different from the body posture in the control group (p≤0.05). The positive behaviour of research individuals in the experimental group has also influenced more distinct changes in their body posture and functional status of skeletal-muscular system. 2. After 5 motion correction exercises under specialist’s care, results of teenagers’ researches have improved both in the experimental group and the control group. 3. After comparison of results in research individuals after application of the 3-month course of motion correction exercises, it was ascertained that better research results were obtained in teenagers going in for sports under specialist’s care than in teenagers doing exercises at home under parents’ care. 4. The hypothesis that doing exercises under specialist’s care exerts a positive influence upon the body posture in teenagers was corroborated.
