Abstract [eng] |
The work contains theoretical and practical analysis of children with scoliosis, their posture before and after physical therapy. Analyzing the therapeutic exercises targeted for posture, abdomen, back and trunk muscle systems. The hypothesis is that applying physical therapy for children with idiopathic scoliosis will improve their body posture. Also children will learn the exercises and they will be able to do them on their own after the treatment. A study was conducted with the aim – to evaluate effectiveness of physical therapy for children with idiopathic scoliosis. By examining the subjects posture before physiotherapy, most of the subjects had bad posture. Most disorders were found in these body segments: shoulders, spine and pelvis ( frontal plane) and lower part of the spine position (sagittal plane). Least problematic body segments are: knee and ankle positions (frontal lane), head position (frontal plane) and the position of legs (sagittal plane). After physical therapy the subjects posture improved and was mostly evaluated as satisfying. After summarizing the research results we can conclude that our hypothesis is confirmed and the subjects posture improved after physiotherapy. Scoliosis was corrected, but not fully treated, so children should continue physical therapy classes. |
