Abstract [eng] There have been definite changes within leading and management development field lately, therefore chief persons of all levels at any stage of their career have to look for methods and adequate measures to improve company’s activities, seek for effective results and sustain professional personnel. Lately human factor has become a key element in the activities of organizations and its impact towards the activity results has grown. Basic employee motivation studies are made in Lithuania, aiming at estimating the real motivation of the employees and defining suitable measures and methodologies to raise it. Therefore a set of basic recommendations is often being proposed to improve employee’s motivation system within the organization. However there is still a lack of studies of different types of organizations based on management style and its impact towards the employee’s motivation. Work originality is evidenced by the fact that during the study made it is not only the needs of employee to be evaluated, but also different separate components of management type to be analyzed, i.e. chief’s attitude towards discipline, types of decision making, control nature, distribution of responsibility, attitude towards initiative and etc. Apart from employee’s position, chief opinion is also taken into account. Academic literature study is used in order to reveal the conceptions of motivation and leading, motivation determining factors, management style classification and impact towards employees’ motivation; questionnaire survey gives a possibility to investigate the influence of leading style towards employees’ motivation within public enterprise; structured interview helps to find out chief’s opinion on the motivation methods used in his organization and management style. Thesis is composed of introduction, three chapters, conclusions, recommendations, bibliography list and appendixes. The theoretic part of the thesis properly discusses the conception of management, provides the classification of management styles, estimates the determining factors in management style change, presents management style as one of the key factors determining employees’ motivation, defines the concept of motivation, reviews the main motivation theories and factors conditioning employees’ motivation. The second part of thesis presents the research methodology, as the third one- the results of the empirical research made. The study delivers management style as a factor conditioning employees’ motivation. One of the key guarantees to organization success is the behavior of chief persons with their employees. Any leader can achieve effective results, but still there is important fact to be considered, that all chief posses different management styles conditioning success or failure of the company. Based on the study findings, the conclusion is made indicating the approval of the hypothesis: management style promotes employees’ motivation within the organization. Total pages 96.
