The objectives of the research are the following: 1.To analyse theoretical preconditions of quickness development in adolescence; 2.To find out students’ perception on quickness and their attitude towards quickness training exercises; 3.To analyse the expression of quickness training and the possibilities of its development in Physical Education lessons. Contingent of the respondents: 14-15 years boys studying at Šiauliai city Simonas Daukantas and Vijoliai secondary schools. Conclusions. The pedagogues do not follow the principles and methodological provisions of quickness training during Physical Education lessons. As a result, this students’ ability is not developed at all or just very slightly. Physical Education teachers rarely explain the essence and particularity of the exercises. In teaching how to do quickness movements they seldom show exercises themselves and do not use visual aids. It is proved that pupils’ knowledge is very miserable. The students are not aware what exercises help to develop quickness and in what intensity this feature is trained best.
