Abstract [eng] The means of the electronic media are one of the most important factors in the socialization of the pre-school age children. They form an understanding of the outer world, an attitude to different occurrences, norms of behaviour and to the system of the values. Electronic media is a very approachable, simple and interesting way to spend your leasure time. However, if not controlled, this process can become unmanagable. A child could start spending more and more time watching tv or playing a computer and other activity can become boring. Modern children have no patience in watching beautiful and educational cartoons. All they need is action and the repetition of the scenes of fights seen in those cartoons. The cruel behaviour and strained plot always catch children‘s attention and fasten them to the screens of tvs or computers. Pre-school children depend on the world, offered bu adults to them, that‘s why it‘s important, that the world wouldn‘t be the same as the one seen in the screen. Family is the first socialization institution of a human-being, because it affects a child in every field of his life. According to the superficiality, sensationality and cruelty, offered by the electronic media, adults (parents) should try as hard as possible to save children from the negative moral and psychological influence. Parents are an uncriticized ideal to pre-school children, which is absolutely acceptable with all its benefits and faults. The interest in watching tv a child gains in such a family, which is dependent on tv watching itself. So in this work, the needs, habits and culture of the electronic media usage was researched. The research revealed, that parents do find some time to communicate with their children, although open air activity, creative and educational activity are substituted for tv watching and computer games. The quantitative research with parents showed, that there are some violations in practical realisation of the protection of children rights mechanism. After the analysis of the legal statements we can state that there are enough tools to protect children‘s rights and interests in the field of activity of the electronic media. That means that electronic media organizations, while seeking for the profit, violate the natural right of a child to be protected from a public and easy approachable harmful information. Educating children in using the sources of the electronic media is very important. The results of a qualitative research with children showed, that modern parents do not dedicate enough time to explain to their children what is suitable and valuable in the electronic media and what is absolutely worth nothing and is even harmful.
