Master's study program in special pedagogy, speech therapy specialization, Šiauliai Academy, Vilnius University, Šiauliai, 2024. The linguistic environment is extremely important for child's early communication and language development. As the conditions of language communication deteriorate, language development also slows down. In recent years, the language development of pre-school children has been changing rapidly due to the decrease in adults (especially parents) talking to children, the increase in digital media and their use not only in Lithuanian, but also in English. With the rapid expansion of media possibilities, educators are faced with changing innovations, media supply, education update in educational institutions. Problematic questions: how does the digital environment, the media affect the undeveloped language of preschool children? What media do preschool teachers and speech therapists use to develop preschool children's language? Study object. Development of undeveloped language in preschool children using media. The purpose of the study is to reveal the experiences of preschool teachers and speech therapists in using media to develop the undeveloped language of preschool children. Study methods. Theoretical analysis of scientific sources; interview (semi-structured); qualitative data content analysis. Survey coverage. Two groups of informants participated in the study: preschool teachers - 10 informants; speech therapists working in preschool institutions - 9 informants. Conclusions. The development of language skills in preschool education is an important part of child’s development. Communication, linguistic education, linguistic environment are important for children and significant for further child’s development, his/ her personality upbringing and socialization boost. Summarizing the experiences of preschool teachers and speech therapists, a positive attitude of educators towards the use of digital media for language development has been observed (encourages, motivates, helps to concentrate). It has also been observed that media for educators is advantageous in developing undeveloped language, but only when used purposefully, in moderation, with time and content control. To develop undeveloped language, educators use a game that is suitable both for working with natural objects, for digital media, and for reading fairy tales. |
