Abstract [eng] The main purpose of the master thesis is to reveal the international immigration flows of Lithuania in the context of other countries, to find out the stimulating factors for the growth of immigration flows and to determine the possible impact on the Lithuanian economy. The work consists of four main parts; introduction, the analysis of literature, the research and its results, conclusion and recommendations. Literature analysis reviews the pull and push factors for immigration, impact of immigration on the host country, the international immigration flows of Lithuania. The empirical part of the master's degree is divided into two subsections, which examine the impact of economic factors on immigration and the impact of immigration on Lithuanian economic indicators. After conducting the research, it was found that GDP per capita, GDP per capita growth and unemployment factors influence the level of immigration in the country, but after reaching a certain level of these indicators, the higher value of the indicators (lower for the unemployment rate) does not have a significant impact on choosing which country to go to to immigrate. Countries with a higher human social development index attract more immigrants, but after reaching a certain threshold of the indicator, the level of immigration in those countries decreases. This may be related to other economic or non-economic factors weighing on the choice of immigration direction. After assessing the impact of immigration on the Lithuanian economy, it can be concluded that the amount of immigration does not affect the unemployment level, but has a negative impact on wages and GDP. The suggestions presented in the conclusion section on how the research methodology could be improved in order to obtain more accurate and informative results.
