Abstract [eng] |
Geometry is an important branch of mathematics taught in school from first to twelfth grade. As research has shown, it can help improve students' problem-solving skills and form a positive attitude towards learning. Various interactive tools also help students get more involved in the learning process and improve academic achievement. As the research shows, teachers willingly use various electronic resources. Mostly for demonstrating subject material and testing students' knowledge. Most often, such tools are used, in which teachers have to create teaching materials themselves. The branch of mathematics in which various tools are most commonly used is geometry. As the literature analysis showed, visualization is extremely important in this field. Unfortunately, teachers face a number of problems when using electronic resources such as: • Lack of Lithuanian language • Lack of resources Another problem revealed during the analysis of tools is the lack of free tools. As the curriculum changes, teachers and students will face another problem, the students will not have learned all the educational topics from the lower grades. After analyzing various tools for teaching geometry (and other branches of mathematics), it was found that most of those tool are videos posted on various platforms. They are mostly intended for older students, while it is difficult for younger students to choose the right educational material. Most tools are paid, so they are not available to everyone. There are quite a few that are free and in Lithuanian. In order to facilitate the studying process, it was decided to create a website with interactive plane shapes training tasks. The website contains educational material and illustrative pictures, animations, videos, interactive visual material, self-control tests or interactive surveys are provided under each sub-topic. Users positively evaluated the created interactive training tool. |
