Digital transformation worldwide is being facilitated by digital technologies and their use in everyday life. The European Union aims to ensure that the digital transformation works for the benefit of all people and that Europe adapts to the digital age. The Lithuanian education system is not excluded from digital transformation. The updated curriculum not only follows a competence-oriented educational trend, but also encompasses digital competence, which enhances one's ability to communicate and collaborate through various digital means. Digital tools enrich teaching and learning as well as improve accessibility and availability, moreover, they allow to choose the time and place of studying. To guarantee inclusive and quality education, it is necessary to use digital tools effectively and purposefully. The use of digital tools is an integral part of modern teaching and learning, which has an impact on education and the achievement of learning outcomes. The aim of the work is to create a digital educational tool for the use of Google for Education tools in the teaching and learning process. The material that was created enabled educators to improve their digital skills for using Google tools. The educational materials that were created using Google for Education tools and uploaded to the Google website were put into practice at Kaunas Bernardas Brazdžionis School. In order to achieve this aim, the vision of the age of digitization in Europe and Lithuania was reviewed. The tools offered by Google for Education and Microsoft 365 were compared too. This paper also analyzes the necessary support for teachers to be able to use Google tools in the educational process effectively. The demand for digital tools for school teachers is revealed as well. The majority of school educators stated that the created educational material was useful. The teachers suggested that the site should provide an opportunity for the dissemination of experience, i.e. create another website pages, titled "The Experiences of Colleagues", "DUK". |
