Master paper was aimed to examine aspects of organizational culture formation in Šiauliai district secondary schools and grammar schools (gymnasiums). Scientific foreign and Lithuanian literature analysis method is used to analyse essence, functions, types, models, levels of organizational culture. Especial leader’s role is disclosed in formation, maintaining and changing the organizational culture. Relations between organizational culture and organizational climate are explained. Results of the research show clan-type organizational culture predominating in Šiauliai district secondary schools and grammar schools (gymnasiums). Along with the clan culture, one can observe existence of other cultural type indicators. The research discloses the largest planned changes in Bazilionai and Pavenčiai secondary schools. In future these education establishments intend to focus attention at formation of adhocratic culture. Practical significance of the research is based on the fact that the leaders, basing upon the methods suggested by K. S. Cameron and R. E. Quinn, can identify the type of organisational culture, strengthen it with the help of given methods, or transform it into another type seeking for more efficient organizational performance. |
