The paper presents a theoretical analysis of scientific methodological literature and legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania, which regulate health education and its policy in schools of general education. The hypothesis of the research: the integrated programme of health education is insufficiently implemented in general education schools of Kelmė district. The research was conducted employing the method of questionnaire survey, which aimed to investigate the situation of implementation of the integrated programme of health education and preparation for family life in schools of general education in Kelmė district. The statistical analysis of the acquired data was carried out. The sample of the research included 539 respondents: teachers, school learners of 6th and 11th forms and their parents. The empiric part of the research focused on how frequently and what themes of healthy lifestyle the teachers integrate into their taught study subjects, whether they provide learners with sufficient knowledge while teaching certain themes of healthy lifestyle and whether teachers have sufficient knowledge teaching certain themes of healthy lifestyle. An attempt was also made to identify opinion of school students and their parents about health education. |
