Abstract [eng] The school should develop a young person according to the future development. He/She should be opened for self-changes and self-study. The development of the person depends on the school culture because a man is a self-creator of his/her own culture. The school community which includes students, teachers, administration and parents should help to create the school culture according to the opportunities. The object of the research. The culture of comprehensive secondary school. The aims of the research. Analyse the features of the culture of comprehensive school and its relation-ship with the factors of the external surrounding. The methods of the research. The analysis of science literature and documents; a written questionnaire of teachers and school leaders; quantitative (data evaluation in per cent) and qualitative (systematization, classification), data analysis. The research was carried in the five comprehensive secondary schools of Kėdainiai town and in the three comprehensive secondary schools of Kėdainiai district. The questioning was made in January, 2010. 237 Teachers and 26 school leaders of those institutions were questioned. They were given questionnaire with seven diagnostical expanded questions. The results of the research. 1. The school culture joins values, standards and confidence of school community. The behaviour of such a group of people depends on the school culture and is reviled through metaphors, customs’ rituals, ceremonies, myths’, symbols, history and humour. 2. Comprehensive school teachers and observe the changes of school culture but the majority of them cannot name the advantages and disadvantages of the external surrounding made to school culture. The school leaders say that more the advantages influence of the external surrounding made to school culture. 3. The majority of the teachers and school leaders from Kėdainiai town and some from Kėdainiai district notice that school culture has an indirect value upon the external surrounding.
