Abstract [eng] Master's work examines the causation problem of the most dangerous offenses described in the Criminal Code – crimes against human life. This work is mainly based on theoretical provisions of one of the most modern criminological theories – Development and life course criminology. While the most typical criminology theories give the static explanation of crime, we explain it as to be the result of dynamic process in which many different factors take place: 1. Those describing the offender and his personality; 2. Those describing the crime situation. Due to the interdisciplinary of criminology, we define first group of factors as to include all biological, social, psychological features of the offender. According to the results of empirical studies made in Lithuania and foreign countries, we find some strong associations between some of those factors and the development of crimes against human life. So we suggest some of consistent three-level (primary, secondary and tertiary) preventive measures.
