Abstract [eng] |
Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, but the main issue on calculation of the energy consumption of an electric vehicle remains relevant. There are various models and algorithms that help to determine consumption of the vehicle, however, their application to an electric vehicle and the real possibility of pre-determining the distance travelled by an electric vehicle and its consumption are discussed. Moreover, it is acknowledged that it is more important to determine the energy-optimal and most economic route for the electric vehicle rather than the fastest or shortest one. In general, we can talk about two methods for determining the energy consumption of an electric vehicle: algorithms based on general data, physical and technical characteristics of the electric vehicle, and algorithms based on real driving measurements. Real-world driving measurements, capacity of the battery, driving style and driving data, environmental and weather conditions, temperature, road specifics, and other parameters, help to determine more realistic energy consumption data. However, it is noticed that the current literature lacks calculations based on essential criteria and real-world up-to-date data on the consumption of electric vehicle, as well as detailed studies based on it. Given limitations of the current solutions, the objective of this work is to determine the influence of the key parameters on the energy consumption of an electric vehicle. To achieve this, the applicable key criteria and parameters are identified, practical solutions—algorithms that allow to evaluate the electric vehicle’s driver profile and predict the energy consumption of the electric vehicle and propose an optimal path for a specific driver. The conducted research allows to recommend the electric vehicle driver who wants to drive an electric vehicle as far as possible, to choose an optimal driving style, avoid excessive waste of battery power for sudden acceleration and aggressive driving, that reduce the possible distance travelled. Geographical features of the road, especially road slopes, should also be used for energy saving purposes. When choosing alternative routes, it is recommended to keep in mind that the fastest or shortest road for an electric vehicle does not always mean the optimal one, considering the energy consumption criteria. |
