Thesis title. Changes in the Psycho-Emotional Well-Being of Pre-School Teachers Using Art Therapy. The aim of the study - to determine the impact of art therapy on psychoemotional state among pre-school teachers. Objectives of the empirical study: 1. To assess the psycho-emotional well-being of preschool teachers of "X" kindergarten-pre-school before and after the art therapy - stress, anxiety, depression. 2. To assess the expression of professional burnout of the study participants before and after art therapy. Empirical research questions:  1. How do the formal elements of the drawings change in the artworks of the study participants in the course of art therapy? 2. How is the change of psycho-emotional wellness reflected in the visual expression of the participants? Participants. Nine preschool teachers. Research methods. A mixed-methods research design - quantitative and qualitative. A quantitative pre-post experimental study was carried out to assess the teachers' psycho-emotional well-being, using the DASS-42 anxiety, depression and stress scale, and the Copenhagen Burnout Scale was used to determine the teachers' burnout. Drawings collected during art therapy were analyzed using formal drawing element analysis. A qualitative study was carried out to reveal changes in teachers' psycho-emotional well-being during art therapy: semi-structured interviews were conducted, collected data was analysed according to the thematic analysis method. Finally, the comparative analysis of tree drawings was carried out. Results of the empirical study. 1) Statistical results of the study showed a statistically significant positive effect of art therapy on teachers' psycho-emotional well-being - stress, depression and anxiety symptoms. 2) A statistically significant change in the expression of teachers' professional burnout was found. 3) A positive change was found in the formal elements of drawing: composition, space, line, pressure, colour, energy and choice of art media. 4) A change in the teachers' well-being during the art therapy experiences was revealed: greater self-confidence, higher courage, increased relaxation. 5) A change in elements of the tree in the drawings, revealed a tendency towards alleviation of teachers' psycho-emotional well-being. |
