Bilateral breast reconstruction is becoming an increasingly relevant topic for women seeking to restore natural-looking breasts after prophylactic or therapeutic breast cancer treatment. The wide selection of breast reconstruction methods raises the question of which method should be chosen in an individual situation. The purpose of this review is to systematize and provide an introduction to the most commonly used methods of bilateral breast reconstruction, indicating the indications for each of them, the criteria determining the choice of the method, complications of surgical treatment, outcomes and risk factors. |
