Abstract [eng] Morozovaitė, J. (2023). Peculiarities of links among mindfulness, self-compassion, and body dissatisfaction in women with eating disorders. Master's thesis. Vilnius: Vilnius University, p. 46. The aim of the study was to examine the relationships between trait mindfulness and its components, self-compassion, and body dissatisfaction, and compare them between women with and without eating disorders. The study included 70 women from Lithuania, with an average age of 32.4 years. Among the participants, 35 women had a diagnosis of an eating disorder. The following instruments were used in the study: Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), Self-Compassion Scale-Short Form (SCS-SF), Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ), and a demographic data questionnaire. It was found that among women without eating disorders, self-compassion, and mindfulness were more strongly expressed, while body dissatisfaction was less pronounced compared to women with an eating disorder diagnosis. Women without eating disorders obtained higher scores in describing, acting with awareness, non-judging, and non-reactivity. In the study sample, a positive relationship was found between participants' age and the expression of mindfulness and self-compassion. Additionally, a negative relationship was observed between age and body dissatisfaction scores. In the group of women with eating disorders, mindfulness scores were positively associated with self-compassion scores and negatively associated with body dissatisfaction scores. Analyzing the components of mindfulness in the clinical group, it was found that only non-judging was positively related to body dissatisfaction scores. In this sample, the presence of an eating disorder diagnosis and non-judging scores predicted body dissatisfaction scores in women.
