Abstract [eng] The misalignment of the upper and lower jaws' teeth, or malocclusion, is a common developmental disorder brought on by genetic, environmental, and functional factors. Malocclusion, if left untreated, can result in dental issues, alterations in the facial structure, and social and emotional problems. Preventive orthodontics can stop the progression of malocclusion and lessen the need for expensive treatment options by educating patients and their parents, keeping track of growth and development, and performing diagnostic procedures. This scientific review emphasizes the prevalence and effects of malocclusion as well as the significance and possibilities of early detection and prevention.
