Concert activity is one of the most prominent forms of non-formal music education, which promotes leadership, motivation, and a positive emotional state. In order for musical performances to be an effective component of non-formal music activity, for the implementation of performances it is necessary to summarize factors that can diversify music activity or determine the quality of performances. The object of the research of the present thesis is the organization of concerts in non-formal music activity. The aim of the research is to find out the specifics of organizing concerts in non-formal music activity. The objectives set for the research: to define the concept of non-formal music education; to review the forms of the expression of non-formal music education and the content of the activity; to review the theoretical aspect of concert performances, the main stages of preparation; to reveal the possibilities of the expression of organizing concert performances; to conduct a qualitative study revealing the most important features of the organization of concert performances from the point of view of teachers. The following conclusions were obtained after the analysis of scientific sources and the empirical (qualitative) study: non-formal music education is one of the most popular fields of non-formal education based on focused music activities that promote personal musical development; non-formal music education stands out from other fields of activity in terms of favourable opportunities for active participation in public activities; a concert is defined as a purposefully planned, organized event that takes place at a scheduled time; various means of musical/artistic expression are actively used in concert performances – elements of body percussion, dance, movement, interpretation of works, involvement of the audience, designing the stage with decorations, lighting and visual solutions that help to diversify the content of musical performances; the main factors of the organizational process are the organization of teamwork, the dissemination of the event, advertising, the budget and the technical part; the image of the performers, the quality of the performances, the repertoire, the decoration of the stage and the script are assigned to the factors of the artistic process; concert activity promotes students’ courage and self-confidence; in the process of organizing concerts, different stage experiences and skills of students are encountered, i.e., younger students are characterized by a lack of courage, patience, lower endurance, limited movement possibilities. Maturity, flexibility, greater self-confidence, and independence are noticeable in the music activities of older student. |
