Abstract [eng] The master's thesis examines the impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) on economic growth in the group of 27 European Union (EU) countries during 2004–2020 period. The aim of the study is to investigate whether ICT have positive effect on the economic growth of the 27 EU countries and whether the impact depends on the level of economic development of these countries. In the first part of the study other authors' scientific works are surveyed. The concept of economic growth is defined and theories of economic growth are summarized. The determinants of economic growth are introduced and infrastructure’s effect on economic growth is presented. Information and communication technologies are described, announcing that in this study ICT will be reflected through the ICT infrastructure. Insights of the impact of ICT on economic growth in the EU during 2008 global economic crisis are provided. The expected relationships between the impact of ICT infrastructure on economic growth and the influence of other factors determining economic growth are identified. The second part of the study presents the workflow and methodology. The research sample and the analyzed period are defined. The econometric model was developed. Research hypotheses are formulated. The third part presents dynamics of the ICT infrastructure’ in EU countries during 2004–2020. An econometric study of the impact of ICT infrastructure on economic growth of 27 EU countries was carried out using panel data fixed effects (FE) method and dynamic generalized method of moments (GMM). The results obtained during the econometric study are compared with the conclusions of other authors and an evaluation is presented. The study found out that ICT have a positive effect on the economic growth of the 27 EU countries. The most developed countries’ economics benefit more from ICT than less developed ones.
