The aim of this paper is to determine the impact of environment, motivation, performance, knowledge and skills on career success, in relation to gender. This master thesis consists of four parts. The first part of the thesis reviews the opinions of various authors, analyses research publications and studies carried out in relation to career success. It examines the variety of factors and their impact on career success, the importance of environmental, motivation, activities, knowledge and skills factors. It examines whether there is a gender effect on the relationship between factors and career success. The second part of the thesis sets out the problem and objectives of the study, justifies the relevance of the study, develops the research model, develops the hypotheses, and selects the research methodology. The third part of the thesis presents an explanatory statistical analysis of the data obtained from the structured questionnaire survey method of quantitative research. The obtained data were tested with Cronbach Alpha reliability test and unreliable data have been removed. The hypotheses were tested, and regression analysis was carried out in several cross-sections, in relation to gender. The moderating relationship between environmental, motivation, performance, knowledge and skills factor groups and career success has been determined. In the fourth part of the paper, conclusions and suggestions are presented. The findings of the research show that, when considering the influence of four groups of factors on career success as systems (environmental, motivational, activity, knowledge and skills), the environmental group is influenced by organizational support and work challenge, the motivational group by confidence, the activity group by continuous learning, and the knowledge and skills group by professional knowledge. The individual's responsibility to acquire new knowledge and skills, to develop professional competences and to take on new challenges and projects plays a particularly important role in influencing career success. |
