Abstract [eng] |
The final thesis of the Master's thesis "The Phenomenon of Meaninglessness" discusses what an existential crisis is, what can cause it, and how it affected me, inspired me and led me to become interested in nihilism philosophy. Nihilism is introduced through the thoughts of Friedrich Nietzsche and other philosophers talking about the meaning of life, why we want to know the answer to this question that has been posed to humanity for thousands of years and what to do if there is no answer. Information on what gave meaning to life hundreds of years ago and how this has changed with the scientific age. The Master's thesis briefly describes nihilism-like and related phenomena such as existentialism, absurdism, cynicism and apathy. It discusses the positive influence of suffering and the improvement of life with the help of nihilism. F. Nietzsche is used as the main philosopher to deal with the subject of nihilism because he was both in favour of and opposed to this philosophy. The essay analyses whether art can be the answer to gloomy meaninglessness. The written work includes a collection of my graphic artworks and a video entitled "The Phenomenon of Meaninglessness" In creating the illustrations I wanted to convey my existential crisis, philosophical ideas and the feelings they evoked on the page, and to exhibit the works through the video. |
