The master 's thesis analyzes time management in the business and public sector. Research problem: what hinders the rational management of time in the private and public sectors? what time management skills do employees and managers in the public and private sectors lack? The object of research is time management in the organization. The aim of the research is to analyze time management in an organization theoretically and to evaluate time management in public and private organizations practically. Objectives of the research: to analyze the concept of time management; examine time management techniques and their application; identify effective time management methods in the organization; to explore differences and similarities in time management in the public and private sectors. Research methods: analysis of scientific literature; qualitative research (semi-structured interviews with managers); quantitative research (questionnaire survey for employees). The work consists of an introduction, which reveals the relevance of the topic, scientific problem, object, research goal, tasks, methods and methodological provisions. The theoretical part is intended to explain the definitions, the analysis of theoretical attitudes, the practical part is to empirical research, data analysis, interpretation. Conclusions and recommendations are presented at the end. Comparing the results of qualitative and quantitative research, it was found that in a private institution, participants have lack organizational skills (i.e., ability to categorize work according to importance and urgency). While managers and employees of public institution have lack work planning and time control skills. A small number of respondents from both institutions use time management techniques, but all informants apply time management techniques in their work. Respondents of UAB Greitis are hindered by the rational use of time by performing several different tasks at the same time, lack of time management skills, inability to complete work, but informants are hindered by inadequate rest management, non-compliance with deadlines and extraneous work. VTM respondents are more hindered by the lack of clear goals and priorities for the more rational use of time, lack of self-control, while informants are hindered by the lack of training, time management techniques and inadequate work planning. |
