Abstract [eng] |
For the last few years there has been a growing interest in THz radiation control. A new and rapidly developing technology of metamaterials introduces a unique way to manipulate light. As most commercially viable optical components for THz radiation are not suited for compact systems the aim of this research is to improve optical properties for flat optics. Profound research has been done to improve devices that manipulate THz radiation, especially focusing lenses based on metasurfaces. Such an optical component rotates the phase of light depending on the metamaterial component. By altering the phase shifting components on a metasurfaces one can create such a wave front that converges to a point. The purpose of this research is to optimize properties of metaelements for 0.3 THz radiation as well as evaluating different design and manufacturing impact on metalenses and focusing properties of different design structures. |
