Abstract [eng] UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy is a physical technique for studying the properties of transparent solutions. From the measured absorption spectra, it is possible to determine how much and what substances are present in a solution, how they interact with each other or react with an aqueous model medium. Also, by measuring the absorption spectrum of the solution after each irradiation, it is possible to observe how the substances react to the radiation and how they interact with each other. The aim of the study was to determine the spectral properties of chlorin e6 and Matcha tea extract and how they change in aqueous buffered media at different pH, to investigate how these spectral properties change with the addition of bovine serum albumin and ascorbic acid, and to investigate the effect of blue diode irradiation on the test substances. It was found that catechins provide the best protection against photobleaching of chlorin e6 when the medium is basic, alkaline or contains BSA in solution. When the medium is acidic, ascorbic acid aids in the reduction of chlorin e6, with the addition of Matcha extract to the solution of chlorin e6 and ascorbic acid allows the catechins to interact with the ascorbic acid and protect chlorin e6 from oxidation, better than catechins alone.
