SUMMARY 76 pages, 18 tables, 6 figures, 89 references. The master's thesis aims to determine, based on the scientific literature and the results obtained during the empirical research, what factors of remote work affect the quality and efficiency of work in the field of public sector defense. The object of the study is the public sector of the defense industry. Methods used to achieve the goal of the master's thesis: analysis of Lithuanian and foreign authors' scientific literature, conceptual research model and questionnaire based on this literature, data which was collected via questionnaire survey, research results were processed using the statistical data processing program SPSS, conclusions were based on the results of the research and scientific literature. Results of the research: the analysis of the scientific literature revealed various aspects of remote work, the factors of remote work, and their influence on work efficiency. Rational use of resources and the consolidation of the culture and philosophy of the organization is a more accurate description of the efficiency of the public sector, and quality is understood as the totality of compliance with standards and specifications to meet customer needs. The efficiency of the public sector is not only about reducing costs and increasing the efficiency of the services provided but also about the quality of these results. Efficiency and quality are therefore inseparable from the service provider policy-making framework of the public sector. The author's research, as well as the analysis of the obtained research results, substantiates and allows to conclude that the most significant influence on the quality of work and work efficiency is made by the positions held, information technology (IT) skills, individual work. However, life changes for respondents working remotely have a negative impact on the effectiveness of remote work. It can be concluded that remote work has a positive effect on the efficiency and quality of work in the field of public sector defense.
