Abstract [eng] |
The theoretical part of the Master’s Thesis "Contemporary Lithuanian and Latvian Poetry: Judita Vaičiūnaitė and Monta Kroma" is based on the Maurice Merleau-Ponty‘s theory of Phenomenology of Perception and describes the main provisions to the phenomenological understanding of a corporeal body. The focus of the research carried out in this thesis is the analysis of the poem collections: Vėtrungės (1966) by Lithuanian author Judita Vaičiūnaitė, and Lūpos. Tu. Lūpos. Aš (1970) by Latvian author Monta Kroma, which are both known as urban modernists of the latter half of 20th century. Applying the phenomenological principle in the context of poetry, the subject can be considered the one who speaks. The different ways of movement in space are linked with the subject’s perceptive body, which works as a means of revealing the main features of the authors’ poetry. |
